After serving home buyers and home owners in the Chicagoland area for almost 35 years, I can say I've been in almost every community or neighborhood in the area. It's one of the reasons I like putting together blogs on the local area best. They help my clients, their families and friends, but also reach my potential clients of the future. I also get to renew what I remember of all the neighborhood activities and services too. A win-win for all.
Below you will find a list of Chicago and Chicagoland communities offering Farmers Markets or French Markets during this summer and into early fall of 2011. Many of these Markets also offer items beyond produce and food, such as musical performances, kids activities, community services, and more.
There's great benefit to supporting these Farmers Markets and French Markets. Besides enjoying the health benefits of fresh, locally-grown produce, fruits, and vegetables ... you're also supporting the local economy and your fellow neighbors. Again, a huge win-win for all involved.
Hope you seek-out and enjoy a Farmer's Market or French Market in or near the community you live or work in soon ...

The farmer's market will feature fresh-from-the-farm items. From 10-11 a.m. each Thursday, the district will offer "Fresh from the Farm," a program designed for children and families. Each week, a different fruit or vegetable will be featured and explored--and eaten! Also, every third Thursday of the month will feature special additions, including Naper Settlement performing historical demonstrations. Other highlights include hay rides (June 16), petting zoo (July 21) and tractor show (August 18). The Riverview Farmstead Market and special programming are free of charge and open to all ages. All vendor items will be for sale and plenty of free parking is available.
