I'm a proud graduate of Lincoln-Way Community Central High School in New Lenox, IL. Class of 1975. My brothers, my wife and her siblings, and our own boys are all graduates of this great school. So reporting that one of the school's most exciting annual events is coming up, is important and just plain fun for me.
Friday, September 23rd is Homecoming at Lincoln-Way Central. The Lincoln-Way Central Knights football team, led by Coach Brett Hefner, will be hosting the Lockport Porters that evening. Kick-off for the game is at 7:30 pm in the LWHS Central Stadium located at 1801 E. Lincoln Highway in New Lenox.
A reception for all Lincoln-Way Community Central High School alumni is being held outside the Performing Arts Auditorium located on the LWHS Central campus. Alumni at the Homecoming Game will be awarded a gift and given refreshments upon their attendance at the reception that evening.
As a former Knight football player, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that a special Homecoming event is being planned for all the Lincoln-Way Central Marching Knight band alumni that evening too. The band was very important to the team and always central to our spirit throughout football games.
Alumni of the Marching Knights (all years) are invited to take part in the pre-game performance being planned prior to the big homecoming game on September 23rd. They are then welcome to stay and play throughout the game with the present LWHS Central Marching Knights. All alumni band members are required to wear a Marching Knight alumni shirt and jeans if they are participating in the evening's performance.
A 5:00 pm rehearsal will be held at the LWHS Central auditorium prior to the evening's game. The pre-game performance will begin at 7:20 pm. A postgame reception for alumni band members will be hosted at Charleston's, located in New Lenox.
As it has since its formation in 1951, Lincoln-Way Community High School District is serving a central role in the lives of all the communities it serves ... as well as its thousands of alumni. Please consider supporting the Lincoln-Way Community Central High School Knights football team ... and the Marching Knights, both past and present, by attending the Homecoming festivities on September 23rd.
GO! KNIGHTS!
* Should you be hoping to buy a home in the Lincoln-Way Community High School District and are need of credit and mortgage advice, guidance, and service ... please contact me. I'll be happy to assist you in your quest.

There's an old saying that goes, "things are best hidden right under your nose". And the William Alexander Wine Studio located in Lockport, IL is a great example of that saying being true.
In fact, the Wine Studio itself advertises itself as the "Best Kept Secret in Lockport".
Hidden in plain site at the corner of 900 So. State Street, (Lockport's main thorough-fare) this gem of a business is passed by thousands of cars daily. My wife and I didn't know of its' existence until good friends alerted us to its presence ... and we reside in Lockport. Now we're trying to get the word out about this fun and amazing place to everyone we know.
Housing a Home Decor and Gift Store, a Wine and Martini Bar, and Wine Tasting Room (Specialty and Import Beers available too) ... the William Alexander Wine Studio has become a favorite haunt for Chicagoland's music lovers.
The William Alexander Wine Studio hosts talented musicians from the area for live performances on the weekends. While many visiting the Wine Studio come to mingle, converse, and enjoy the music with friends, it's not also surprising to see couples dancing to the live music through-out the evening.
This coming Friday, September 16th, the William Alexander Wine Studio will be hosting a wine class. Starting at 7:00 pm, the class has a cost of $30.00 for residents of Lockport ... and $35.00 for non-residents.
If you prefer, you can shop the night away, sample the wines and treats available, enjoy a chocolate fountain, or a mini manicure. Chris Heroldt will be on hand providing live music and taking requests.
Fall Hours for the William Alexander Wine Studio are:
